Community rules
Ninmuya is for practical help between people in Hong Kong. These rules apply to every quest, message, photo, rating and profile.
Breaking them can lead to the quest or rating being removed, the account being suspended or closed, the giver being refunded, and a report to the police.
Earlier versions of these rules are kept on our website: the previous one (version 2026-10-01, last updated 5 October 2026) is at ninmuya.com/rules-2026-10-01.
What you can post
- Practical help: errands, queuing, shopping, delivering lawful items, paperwork, cleaning, simple repairs and assembly, moving small items, tech help, tutoring, photography, walking pets.
- Queue or buy only for the giver's own use: no tickets or limited goods for resale, and nothing for parallel trading.
- Tech help is for the giver's own devices and accounts only. No tracking or spying apps.
- Every quest must be a practical task with something to show for it. Ninmuya isn't for paying someone just to keep you company or spend time with you.
- Paying to notify hunters about a quest doesn't change these rules. A promoted quest that breaks them is taken down like any other, and the payment for promoting it isn't refunded.
Nothing sexual or romantic
- No sexual services, escorts, dating, "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" experiences, or anything intimate.
- No quests where physical contact is the point, such as kissing, cuddling or massage.
- No paying someone to spend time with you: no company, dinners, drinks, dates, chatting, or going out together.
- Allowed: going with an older or disabled adult to an appointment or on an errand, and language practice booked as tutoring.
- No nude, sexual or suggestive photos.
- Nothing about a hunter's looks, body, age or clothes, and no asking for their photo.
- No modelling or being photographed, no selling worn clothing, no staying overnight with anyone, and no quests in a hotel or guesthouse room.
- If a quest turns out to be sexual, we refund the giver and keep no fee.
Nothing illegal or dangerous
- Nothing against Hong Kong law.
- No weapons, drugs, controlled or prohibited goods, or fakes, and no carrying goods across the boundary for someone else.
- No buying, carrying or delivering e-cigarettes, heated tobacco or CBD products: even carrying a vape in a public place is an offence. Don't take in parcels for anyone else, or deliver a sealed package unless you know what is inside.
- No carrying passengers for payment in any vehicle, and givers may not ride in a hunter's van with their goods. That needs a hire car permit or a licensed ride-hailing platform, which Ninmuya is not.
- No dangerous work, such as working at height, cleaning outside windows, or anything needing safety equipment or training you don't have.
- No dumping rubbish anywhere other than a proper collection point.
No work that needs a licence
- No work on fixed wiring, such as sockets, switches, light fittings or water heaters: only a registered electrical contractor may be hired for it. Changing a bulb or setting up plug-in appliances is fine.
- No gas work, including connecting a cooker or changing its hose.
- No work on water pipes, taps, cisterns or toilets; clearing a blocked sink or drain is fine.
- Nothing fixed to the outside of a building, and no work on walls or structure. Painting, and hanging pictures or shelves indoors, are fine.
- Security guarding, estate agency (such as finding someone a flat for a fee) or money lending.
- Keeping someone's pet overnight for payment, medical or beauty treatments, and legal or financial advice.
- No making food to sell.
No money or identity schemes
- No collecting, moving or exchanging money for others, apart from paying for shopping that is part of a quest, and no letting anyone use your bank account, card, phone number, SIM card or ID.
- No loans, investments, cryptocurrency trading, gambling, bets, raffles or prize draws. No placing bets or buying lottery tickets for others.
No employment
- No regular or ongoing jobs, recruitment, or domestic helper work.
- Hunters must have the right to work in Hong Kong.
Children
- Everyone on Ninmuya must be 18 or over.
- No babysitting or looking after children. Tutoring a child is allowed only with a parent or guardian at home.
No cheating or deception
- No sitting an exam, test or interview for someone, and no writing work they will hand in as their own. Help with a CV is fine.
- No fake reviews, likes or accounts, no pretending to be someone else, and no forged documents.
Ratings and reviews
- Rate each quest as it really went. Keep comments to the work and how the person dealt with you.
- No insults, threats or personal details in a comment, such as a phone number or address.
- Don't offer anything for a good rating, threaten a bad one, or ask anyone to rate you a certain way.
- Don't accuse anyone of a crime in a review. If something serious happened, such as theft or injury, report it to us, and to the police if needed.
- Don't delete your account and open a new one to get rid of ratings.
- Ratings can't be changed or taken back. If a review about you breaks these rules, report it. If you report a review as untrue and damaging, we may hide it while we check. We remove content whenever the law requires.
Respect other people
- No harassment, threats, hate or bullying.
- Quests are open to everyone. Don't ask for, or choose, a hunter because of their sex, pregnancy, marital status, disability, family responsibilities, race, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin, or age. The one exception is sex, where privacy or decency needs it, such as close personal contact or private matters in someone's home: pick that reason when you post, and it shows on the quest. You may ask for skills the task needs, such as speaking Cantonese. Describe the task, not the person.
- Share someone's details only with the people doing the quest, and only as far as the task needs. Never use them to expose, shame or pressure anyone.
- Evidence photos should show the work, not people. Never photograph anyone secretly or in a private place, and never share, or threaten to share, an intimate image.
- No locating, watching or tracking anyone, or finding out where they live, work or go. No debt collecting, serving demands, or putting up notices about anyone.
- No spam or advertising.
Keep it on Ninmuya
- Keep payments and messages in the app. Don't put phone numbers or other contact details in quests.
- No fake quests, and only one account each.
